I Won't Say, But It Rhymes With 'Nachos'

Sit back and shaddup. It's story time. It's not a a thrilling story time, if you wanted something interested you know to turn elsewhere.

Last weekend was a much needed extended break in which me and the bromine returned to the mother fatherland uncleland. It was four days of no homework for Dan, so that equates to an experience better than I could have hoped for otherwise.

Rush draws to a close on Sunday. Tim, you out there? Are you on the fence or what? Shit or get off the pot. There's a fun rush event this weekend that I will not be partaking in because the list of brothers just filled up so quickly. Hope everyone enjoys the sights in Indy whilst visiting Crackers Comedy Club.

Today was the Fall Career Fair here at Rose. I decided only yesterday that I was even going to attend. This meant I had to bring my resume up to speed from freshman year. It would have been great to remember to update my phone number from my dorm room freshmen year to something a little more current. But I'm sure companies love blue chicken-scratching atop otherwise bland resumes.

I talked to about five companies of which I won't mention just yet. Talked to a fair number of Rose Alum's and a couple of Pike Alums who went off into that great beyond and came back. That, unto itself, was most enjoyable. At the moment, I landed but one interview for tomorrow. The gentleman called about 20 minutes ago and, of course, I was somehow able to make an ass of myself in our brief 90 second conversation. As I may have talked about once before, my computer alerted me to a new mail message with a robust "Mail Mothafucker" message not 5 seconds after I pick up the phone to talk to the recruiter. Perfect. I can but hope it went unnoticed or passed over as the result of random dorm noise. That's twice you've screwed me, Mr T. There shant be a third!

So I have an interbiew tomorrow after my lab, which is pretty exciting I suppose. Again, I won't mention any names because... well... I don't know. This would be my first interview for any job I have held in the last 4 years. My previous employments were all the result of well-placed contacts and superb timing. I can only hope that my good timing will afford me the chance to save a kitten from a tree or give my interviewer CPR and save his life. These, are the things I need.

Halloween Party next weekend. That should be a good time. I vowed not to work this party. I hope they have enough people to staff it without me.

One of my classes was cancelled three days next week. That is going to leave me with some free time, I can feel it. Until then, I'm going to go hammer away at an Analog prelab for a bit. Later.

shut up, cinderblock.

Woo hoo! One of my classes was canceled all next week too! Rock on CS department.

Good luck!

Good luck hon!! We all know that you're interview will go great! love you

Maybe you should change you mail received sound?

I agree with MHB. You may wish to consider an alternate mail alert. Perhaps "This is the Police! Come out with your hands up!" or "Dan, it's dinner time! Put your toys away and wash up!".

Okay, I'll bite...I have no idea what rhymes with "Nachos" (chalk it up to a lack of business/computer literacy).

I can't be the only one who doesn't know, am I?

Tree, I'm blonde. . . . which means that i'm always lost. So, no, you aren't the only person who doesn't know. But now you know how I feel pretty much all the time.

Tree, it's an engineering consulting place here in Indiana. I don't know what could happen if I go dropping names on the internet. Suffice it to say, you haven't heard of them, and neither had I until Wednesday. We'll gossip when I'm in town next.

When are you graduating? I'm all confused.

Tentatively, November of '06.

Got it. Thanks. Lucky you, I bet they don't have any ridiculous ceremonies with monotonous speakers and stupid hats for November graduates.

I think they'll even print my degree on recycled paper in November...

I'm not sure if that was sarcastic (being you, I'm assuming it was), but I'm completely serious and I think that that is the best thing ever. I've been planning since Freshman year about how I will skip out on my graduation, but my friends and my mother have started colluding to ensure that I attend. Right now I'm thinking of failing a class (I'm well on my way) in order that I have to come back in fall for one class. Ceremony in the Winter takes place in a room smaller than your basement, and I believe they skip all speakers and about 3 people attend. It's a dream graduation...and a recycled degree is very environmentally conscious.
