It's Colossal

There have been a number of people trying to convince me that my last real post was more than three weeks ago. I'm still not convinced that anything has happened in the last three weeks worth consuming your bandwidth for, but I digress.

I've been back in Grove City now for about two days as I finished all of my academic obligations early Tuesday morning. I left Tim in Terre Haute to rot... only to find him on the doorstep four hours ago courtesy of Tomsu. It was the youngest Kober's birthday on Tuesday and he got one of those new-fangled iPods. I've sworn to myself not to choke him to death in his sleep and steal it from him, but I've broken promises to myself like that before.

In a bit of a chronologically backward leap, I was nominated and elected the the chapter's secretary a few weeks ago. The position wields almost no authority whatsoever, but I look forward to it.

In as much as classes are over, I'm wholly disinclined to speak of anything having to do with classes. This presents me with the problem of creating a "complete" post for your amusement. I do have one quick story to amuse you with though. I'll try to tell it in as few lines as possible. Our computer graphics class had a final project that was an art show. Passers-by could vote for the best piece in the show. Our project "Room With Rotating Fan (Fan not included)" won. The prize for the contest is dinner and homemade cheesecake at the house of the professor on the first Tuesday we return from break. I really didn't want to win and go to this guy's place, and would just as easily have settled for second. As a sort of payback, I'm going to eat the cheesecake. Now, I'm lactose intolerant in addition to a number of other gastro-intestinal inflictions. A nice, large, homecooked meal will surely set the dial on my bowels to "smoothie-maker" at a most inoppurtune time. In closing, I plan on punishing the guy's toliet a little bit while I am there. My fellow dinner-guests will hear a gunshot from the bathroom, followed by the sound of porcelin breaking.

On the return trip from Terre Haute on Tuesday, I stopped in at the local EBgames even before coming home and picked up a little nugget called "Shadow of the Colossus" for the PS2. It was developed and produced by the same boys that made ICO, which was a release title for the PS2 eons ago. Man, they sure didn't disappoint. I definetely played SotC for 10 hours yesterday before passing out a little after 2am. The premise behind the game might seem a little weak at first... you're a guy with a sword, a bow, and a limitless supply of arrows... there are 16 gigantic beasts scattered across the map... and you go around killing them. No FF style random-encounters. Just you, a horse named Agro, and 16 friggin' stellar boss-fights. The story, though thin, doesn't disappoint and after beating it, you even unlock a few new features like a "Hard-Mode" and "Time Attack Mode" where you have to take down the beasts in like 6 minutes apiece or something like that. On top of the badass gameplay, the graphics are easily the best for a game on the PS2 in years. ICO, which was one of the first games for the PS2, was better looking than games coming out 2 and 3 years later. SotC is just as awesome. Go ahead and drop the forty green-backs and enjoy.

In a further step to destroying the music industry, I got my hands on the yet-to-be released Fort Minor album today: "The Rising Tied". No, "tied" is not mispelled. I always wonder why bands like that feel the need to do odd-ball things like that to album titles. I understand that the typical hip-hop/rap fandom consists mainly of, and I mean this, fucking retards. But seriously. I'll give it a listen later and get back to you.

I think i've sufficiently filled space for the time being. I promise to be more prompt with my little updates. I'm back in G-Biddy until the 27th. I think. I could be wrong on the day... the Sunday after Thxgiving. I'm not going to look at a fucking calendar for you. Give me a call.

Hey this is rap fandom here, but what excuse do you have for bands like Panic! At the Disco? Which by the way still makes badass music btu seriously, wtf?

I still think that you're crazy for playing that game so much. But that's just me. love you

Dan, I commend thee for playing that game that much.

And may I "steal" it from you when you are finished?

Dan, let me know what you think of the Fort Minor disc, I've heard few tracks but I'm not a big fan yet
