Gunpowder Treason and Plot

I won't say too much about the movie, except that if you haven't seen it yet, you should. What movie? What movie? V for Vendetta, you son of a bitch. Watch and enjoy.

I've got less than two weeks before the ASEE conference in Fort Wayne. We have no poster, we have no demonstration. I'm totally prepared to pull out of this conference at the last minute if we need to. I won't be embarassed at this thing when we don't have anything worth while to show.

St Patrick's day had the house full of people in silly green hats and jade beverages. I got in some quality Euchre with Tim, Sarah and Thiede. By quality, I mean Thiede sucks ass and we got destroyed.

Lutron? I got a verbal offer on Friday. Paperwork in April. Worst case scenario? I've got a job. Hip hip.

Shannon has been in Italy since like Thursday or something like that. I don't know when she actually got to Italy, but I'm pretty sure she left Thursday morning. She's got another week overseas. I'm not altogether certain when I'll actually see her again. Hopefully I'll see her before the reception. It'd be nice.

Nothing new and exciting out here. I've just been chipping away at like four different homework assignments over the course of the last 12 hours. In that 12 hours, I've watched close to like 30 episodes of Seinfeld. It's possible that could have held me back a little, but I might have gone nuts otherwise.

Ack. Screw it. Bed now. Work, class, meetings, chapter tomorrow.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot;
I know of no reason, why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

Kudos on the job offer. I told my mom, and she goes, "Danny Kober is going to have a job and a wife in the next two years?" I think she silently added in, "so what the hell are you doing wrong?!?!" but we'll never be sure.

Now that doesn't sound like something the Mrs Dean I know would say.
If you'd like, I'll share the wife with you.

How do I acquire such an offer? Of the wife, not the job, that is.

Elaine: so what you're saying is, 90-95% of the population is undatable.
Jerry: UNDATABLE!
Elaine: So how are all these people getting together?
Jerry: Alcohol.

Love it.

What's with the Guy Fawkes stuff? A reference to the movie? I is *so* confus-ed.

Dan has a job! ::dances:: (I maybe be living in a cardboard box on your front porch next year.)

I dont want to rub it in that i am in Italy, but I will if you want me to! I hope you guys are all having fun back in the States because I know we are having a blast in Europe!

Katie: This is a picture of Guy Fawkes, and this is a picture of the mask worn by the character "V" in V for Vendetta. The similarities are not an accident. I know that you might consider yourself "above" reading comic books, but if you can find this "graphic novel" somewhere, I think you might enjoy it. It's about an evil political regime and a crazy guy who wants to end it. If unable to read the book, see the movie. Also: I'm sure that for the first, like, two years, there will be plenty of leftover space in my bed so there's no need to bring a box.

Shannon: Five days of no contact and your first smoke signal is a comment on the site at 8am? Email? Hello? Seriously though, I hope Italy doesn't suck too bad. It sucks pretty bad here. Four inches of snow this morning. Sonuvabitch. Love you. Be good. I write all of this under the assumption you might read it in the next two-three days.

I might have to check out the novel... you've definitely got me seeing the movie this weekend.

It is an amazing flick. People tried to parallel the movie with the current Bush administration... but the book was written even before the first Bush was in office. Still. It's grand. Portman does a terrific job. And at one point she wears this outfit that makes her look like little bo peep. Take that as you will.

Well, it wasn't 8 in the morning for me. It was almost 2 pm for me and I was sitting in an internet cafè in Bologna. And I sent you an email almost immediately after that. Oh, and I don't want to rub it in, but It was absolutely gorgreous here today. I walked around Sirmiione without a coat and i was actually really warm . . . . not to rub it in. love you
