This Is Just the Prologue

Any props here, Alex? I've been trying to get out and become more worldly with my music. There hasn't been too much new stuff out there that's tickled my balls, but NoY and P!atD are doing all right with me right now. I really like the Bayside Acoustic set from their (unreleased?) DVD. Other than that, can anyone tell me what I have to look forward too?

I'll tell you what I'm looking forward to so far: March at the movies. I've got some gift certificates that will probably get me to see three flicks at zero cost to me and I've already got them picked out, here's why:

  • The Hills Have Eyes: This comes out tomorrow (today) and really I'm just antsy to go see a new movie. This one does look creepy as shit as long as it's done ok. The director, I've been told, is some unknown but it's supposed to be pretty good. We'll see.
  • V for Vendetta: There is no reason I should have to explain to you why this movie kicks ass. Granted, I can't be as good of a Natalie Portman experience as some people have had, but I look forward to it. The book was good, the premise is hauntingly plausable, and it just looks neat.
  • The Inside Man: Clive Owen, Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster. Three good reasons, unto themselves. But have you seen the preview for this one? I love bank robbery movies. Heist movies, I believe they're called. Swordfish, Ocean's 11, The Heist, The Italian Job. I have a good feeling about this one climbing all the way to the top of that list.
On my hard-drive and awaiting my viewing pleasure are Capote and MST3K: The Movie. I've seen MST3K before, we have it on VHS. But it's been a while. This is supposedly a DVD rip so maybe it's even extended. Exciting.

Today felt like a productive day. Spent like four hours in lab just pouding away at stuff. Got things done. Just an overall good feeling. I've got work, a meeting, and one measely class tomorrow. The senior design meeting I'm looking to get done as fast as possible. "Hey, you. You're making our poster. Get the hell on it. I'm going to go to real work now. Thanks."

The registrar said it's pretty much my pick as to when I get to go through commencement. I'm leaning towards just getting it out of the way this year so I can get my diploma as soon as I get things wrapped up in the fall. Plus this way there's no way I'd have to worry about coming back for commencement next year the same time as Kevin's graduation. If he makes it. No, he'll make it. I bet.

The big news of the day is definetely that I'm getting a ticket to the Jack's Mannequin show for next month tomorrow. Ten bucks is an OK price with me. Jenny's getting some tickets tomorrow and her, George and I (at the very least) are going to rock some shit in April. Every inch of me is bruised.

That's all I've got for now... but hell, that's two posts in two days. Suck on it.

For some reason I'm not all that interested in The Hills Have Eyes....

I'm not super interested in THHE, it's just that other than Firewall, I can't think of the last movie I saw in theaters.

I'm not a fan of scary movies, so it's a good thing that you're seeing that one on your own. I really want to see the last two, especially The Inside Man because Clive Owen is amazing. You'll have to let me know how they are because now I'll never get to see them. . . :-P

p!@td = not bad. fun music.

what do you have to look forward to? umm say anything re-release with 7 (count them seven) new songs...i just listened to the new from first to last disc yesterday. it sounds like they went nu-metal...i got sent a cd from a band called downtown singapore, its actually pretty good...check out the fold, chiodos, and emanuel. there. those oughta tickle them balls.

I love panic. I was going to go see them last month but shit got in the way, im axious to find out how they handle their music live without sounding so robotic. btw, windsor drive? you know them yes? I'm quite off on the world of white people music but it's so very very mellow.

I read the script for "V" and if the movie is anythign like the script, its going to be pretty good. I will say, Natalie Portman's character plays a much smaller role in it than the trailers make it seem. It is going to be a decent movie.

The script? Shit, did you read the book? And yeah, the movie is by no means "starring" Natalie Portman, but you can't exactly say "Starring Agent Smith" when you'll never actually see his face.
