Twin Cinema
listening("Breakfast at Tiffany's","Deep Blue Something"); ?>If not for my sparatic, intermitten movie-breaks, this weekend might not have been any fun at all.
On Friday I went and saw The Hills Have Eyes with a bunch of the guys. You ever see one of those movies that just sort of stays with you for a day or two? I got that same feeling after I saw Saw (1 and 2) and a few other movies of that same sort of creepy-human-nature kind of flicks. Se7en. There's another example. Overall, I think I liked the movie. I don't know if I'd own it (legitimately) or not. It's certainly a good 3-in-the-morning freak-yourself-out kind of flick. The effects were overall pretty damn good. Not for the squimish.
Later that night I played about 3 hours of Euchre with some half-drunk people. I played with two partners and won 3-2 and 2-1 with them. Saturday night however, me and a third partner whom I will not name (Kennedy) god shit-bombed like 0-3. It was a horrible upset and I think the local GC Euchre club would have had me ousted to see such playing. Scandalous.
I just got done watching Capote not twenty minutes ago. I must be totally unaware of American literature as I didn't know that Truman Capote was an actual dude and his works actually existed. I was excited to recognize Harper Lee in the movie as the author of To Kill a Mockingbird. They cast the "hot-grandma" from 40 Year Old Virgin as Harper Lee, so you know. An odd pick.
The last couple of days have really just been me at the desk here trying to get things done. Everyone is just piling on the crap this quarter and it's only been one damn week. I had at least one homework and one lab/prelab in each class so far. Senior design has once again kicked into gear which I can feel is going to suck. The good news is I probably won't have to worry about the poster for our presentation in Fort Wayne on the 1st of April. The bad news is I probably will have to worry about the poster for our presentation in Fort Wayne on the 1st of April. And if there's anyone out there that knows how to layout PCB's in Cadence, nows the time to step forward.
OK. That's it for now I guess. Nothing really to look forward to until Friday, when the dream of Guy Fawkes will be realized.
Remember, remember, the 5th of November...
The GC Euchre Club will be performing a routine inspection of your Euchre abilities in the near future. You may want to retain a legal advisor...
And not that I know a lot of useless trivia, but didn't Deep BLUE Something perform "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? I'm just asking...
OK OK. Some fuck-stick on the internet somewhere doesn't know how to tag his MP3's properly. I'm sure it's not the first time it's happened.
To find the rules for the nerf wars...
Go to the xanga site of gc_nerf_war. It has the rules and updates on who's in, who's out and your typical trash talk.
Wow, reading about your job opportunities and the Deans' application process makes me nervous about next year. I'll be going through the whole grad school application thing early in the fall. Not exactly looking forward to the whole "who will accept/reject me" feeling.
Good luck with everything. My biggest news is that I'll be "job shadowing (aka volunteering)" at Miami Valley Hospital on the PT Inpatient floor during Spring Quarter.
Meh! :)
Ah Dan. Youre euchure skills were always in question. Yes, yes, I know, I renigged twice...in a row....in one game. But let's look at track record here.
Careful Dan, if you call something wrong, I might yell at you....
Hey, my game started out strong aight? I took 9 of the first 10 tricks of the game where my partner took the other. It was two shutout hands in a row. The rest of the night just kind of went downhill from there... we definetely got loner'ed at least three times in three games. Urk.
