Sometimes AJAX Rules the Realm

Well howdy-do. I'm fine. Yourself?

So! We were long overdue for a layout update over here. It's simple as hell, but tasteful. I spent part of the weekend learning introductory AJAX, or "Asynchronous Javascript and XML". It's the fancy language that Google and Facebook use to introduce data into webpages without downloading a whole new page. I'm not doing anything revolutionary with it here, just using it to load comments only when they're called. You never have to leave the page though! I look to add more to this feature with some time. Maybe some cool RSS stuff. We'll see.

The week was wrought with the little details that makeup our lives. The weather the last couple of days has been surprisingly pleasant. Wanted to wash the car today but there were intermittent spurts of rain. Tomorrow will be clean-up day. Vacuuming, dusting, et cetera.

Next Saturday? I get to go to work! For like five hours. To give some kind of presentation. A bunch of people in from California, I don't really know. I've been presenting at a few seminars since I got here. At least a few more than I figured I would be after a mere 11 weeks. Good thing? God only knows.

New Bayside CD! I don't actually know if it's out or not, I only know that Tree texted me a handful of lyrics after which I acquired the disc on my own. It is, and I mean this, quite good. Recently, I've been listening to the new Fall Out Boy CD but I must say that it will be sometime before I do again. I just don't think I'll be able to pull myself away from "The Walking Wounded".

All right! That's all. Until next time.

Yay for Battlestar Galactica! :-)

Get back to frakin' work.

I'm so proud.

Oh my gods, they killed starbuck!

I only just finished Season 2, you motherfucker.

PS - I'd still tap the corpse.

I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I believe they actually killed her. She reached for her eject lever before the Viper exploded, but who knows. Maybe she's a cylon. And if you're reading this, Dan, stop! You need to catch up first before you're allowed to read this. :-P

See, you open with that disclaimer and then do all the spoilers. Why... why would you do that? I'm surrounded by idiots.

New Bayside is better than "quite good" - it's easily one of the best albums I've heard in awhile. Favorite tracks?

And is Starbuck dead? Uhm, maybe? (Yeah, I've started watching the show ever since they ran a short series of recap episodes on Sci-Fi. It's never too late to get in on a good show, is it?)

Track 6! The one about choice hops. Also, Track 1 is very delicious. Bayside is like a fine wine, no?

Tree, I didn't know that you were a closet Battlestar fan. I must say I'm very proud of you and quite impressed! :-)

Yeah, I'm a "closet" fan, Shannon. BSG is just good TV.

And Dan, track 6 is one of my favorites, also. I'm a huge fan of tracks 5 through 8 in general. It's just a great overall CD, isn't it?

Abso-freakin-lutely. Best CD yet, easily one of the best CD's of the last 12 months.
