Insane By a Landslide

In order to get the benefit, you really have to be sitting in my seat.

How was March? Abysmal, from a weather perspective. Snow becomes rain becomes two nice days followed by flurries. I can't goddamn take it. I got a couple of hours of good walking in earlier this week, but today (Day 2 of my three-day weekend) I plan only to leave the apartment to pick up a pizza. It's too damn cold, but deceivingly shiny.

I've now been at Lutron for 3 months which means I was subject to a 3-month review that left me, well, employed. Stuff is starting to pile up, which is a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I can't say I'm getting bored, but on the other, I seem to have gotten myself in charge of a real hot-potato project that no one wants to touch. My hands are burning. But the weeks pass with relative speed and the paychecks keep coming, so there's nothing to complain about on that front.

I can't say that I've developed the kind of out-of-work relationships I would have liked, which is why I resigned to see Grindhouse by myself. Situation aside, it really was a decent movie. I think Rodriguez and Tarantino have experienced such success in their careers that they're to the point now where they're allowed to act out any sort of far-fetched, dumbass movie idea they want and just have all their friends help them bring it to life, which I have no problem with. There aren't many people out there who can say "I want to hang out with my friends for a few months while we make a movie with titties, blood, a bare-bones plot, titties, "retarded big" explosions, fetching dialog and titties. And I think it's going to be so much fun, we should just do that shit twice, slap the movies back-to-back, and make up some crazy 60's era shit-previews to run in between them. Blockbuster success? Shit, I'm going to be so loaded the whole time I'm not gonna give more than two shits if I'm the only one that ever sees it." The whole fim(s) looks like it's been pissed on and fed through a paper-shredder. It's glorious. If you've got 3 and a half hours to kill, give it a whirl.

Officially dropping yesterday was the music video (those words taste horrible) for the new Linkin Park single (and suddenly there's a refreshing mint sensation) "What I've Done". The video is nice (and on the website), the track is killer, and I've been waiting neigh 4 years for fresh shit. Oh, a personal aside to Chester, what the hell man? You look like Bono's rebellious teenage son. Lose the jacket, the gloves and the hair color. Otherwise, I love you. The album, "Minutes to Midnight", hits shelves in May.

I just (20 minutes ago) wrapped up God of War for the PS2, on my PS3. I'm disappointed to say that the best game I've played in a while was actually for the PS2. It's taking all of my restraint to keep from going to Best Buy right now and buying the sequel. I've got Oblivion now, so I tell myself I should be playing it. But dammit, Kratos is a god.

What else is new... actually, that might be it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to Vancouver in October to teach a roadshow for work. If anyone can verify for me that Canadians actually have electricity, I think it would help me tweak the presentation a little bit.

That's all the shit fit to print. Let me read some love.

I just can't handle this, I'm just so scared of it
A challenge fit for a man when I'm just a kid
I'm all torn at the seams, just like you said I'd be
If this is love, then I don't want a part of it

And, restraint fails! 40 minutes after said post, I purchased God of War 2. I'm weak.

Weakling. :-P I think we all knew you were going to buy it. Guys just don't have the kind of self control that girls do.

Grindhouse was a wild ride... I saw Tarantino on Conan the other night, and for a good 8 or so minutes he talked about doing 6 Irish Car Bombs with roller derby girls at one of the bars in texas they were shooting at. Crazy motisc. It's very Meteora.

  • Bleed It Out - One of the two rap-tastic tracks. Kind of reminds me of webefreestylin' from Gym Class.

  • No More Sorrow - Ooooooooh. How political. Hard-hitting and bad-ass. Tickles my funny-place

  • Hands Held High - Sad... and political again. Trying to keep up with the Benjamins, eh?

  • Just my favorites so far. Everyone score this album, please. You'll be surprised, but hopefully not disappointed.

I've been listening to Muse's "Absolution" a bit recently. I'd recommend giving them a try if you haven't already. i liken it to a Radiohead meets the ... well, i guess they're just like Radiohead a lot (but not entirely). I recommend - although it might not fit the mold for a lilkobi classic.

oh - and I am disappointed that I didn't pen the word "Koberror", especially given our background in working on each other's code. oh well...glad it sounds like work hasn't punctured a hole in your soul yet. mine barely stays afloat nowadays...

Krysiia: ask him 'do you know how to use the discord library'

I don't actually know what that meant but she asked me to ask you so there it is. contact me with your newest info or something?

I... I had to look up what that means. And I don't play WoW. I play GoW.

I'll shoot you an email with my digits. Most of my shit is on Facebook, too. Should you be so inclined.
