And Found

Previously, on Lost.  The three most dreaded words in the English language.  Never has so much anguish and anxiety been derived from a seemingly innocuous expression.  These words, coupled with a remote control, can completely obliterate 43 minutes of your life.  Around the 29th of February, I became deathly ill and was confined to the couch for the entire weekend and a good chunk of the subsequent week.  I shotgunned Lost, Season 2 in a couple of days.  The recent blizzard trapped the wife and I indoors for most of the weekend as well, so there went most of Season 3.  The show is infuriating on so many levels, which is perhaps why I keep watching it.  I can't, however, imagine what I'll do once I'm caught up and am forced to put a Gregorian week in between episodes.  It does not bode well for my health.

Off the island, my life is the self-repeating pattern of work and home.  Few events have sprung forth to break the redundancy.  Shannon has been working now for a while, so we've fallen into the working married-couple groove that you might expect.  Not that we both wouldn't love a change of pace.  Who's up for some stuff?

I just finished a couple of books; It's Not News, It's Fark and The Life of Pi.  The Fark book is an obvious choice and a printed explanation for why I don't watch/read the news.  The Life of Pi was a Tree-pick that Tim just got done reading.  It wasn't too bad, though I am not sure if I gave it enough attention to say I completely wrapped my head around it.  I'm pretty sure I would have gotten more out of it had I read it in a classroom context, complete with discussion and little one-liner homework problems.

Next Sunday is 311 at Promo West.  This will be the 8th or 9th time I've seen them, surely making them my most frequently visited band.  Mia Madre, Kevin and Big A will also be in attendence.  Once again, they're playing with what I would consider a no-namer, ho-hum opening band which is always a disappointment.

I have resolved to buy a MacBook in the coming months.  My college laptop took a shit beyond the point of my wanting to fix it.  Apple just decided to ramp up the specs in their laptops a little while ago and I must say they currently look rather choice.  Look for excited-Dan in the next few months I suppose.  Also, I am running out of hard drive space.  Again.  Apparently, a terabyte is not an infinite amount of space.  Who knew.

That's all I can think of for now.  There should be some shit going down this weekend, right?  It's St. Patty's Day weekend.  You wouldn't NOT include me in your plans, would you?

Tomsu mentioned you might be switching. Kober...Buy it now! I am writing this comment on my new MacBook. It does everything I need it to and nothing I don't.

So, as you requested, here's when our next big events are going down:

3/14: St. Pattys DOS party
3/21: Graduation party (senior buy some quality booze and get drunk during the Associate retreat)
4/12: Foam
5/2: Cinco De Mayo DOS party
5/16: SFE
Senior week following

Let me know when you can make it out. We'll have a futon ready

NOOO! Don't buy a MAC, you'll just be giving in to Tomsu's fan-boyism. Nah, I bought a new computer because I expect my Rose laptop to asplode any day now.

If you're really REALLY bored over the St. Patty's Day weekend, drive down to Huntsville and eat/drink with Jenny and me.

P.S. Stop watching "LOST" now while you still can.

I will be in town this weekend, so if shit is happening, give me a call or text pretty please :)

I will be home in two weeks. We could celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus...with beer...

In no particular order:
* But... but... I am a Mac Fanboy, I've just never owned a Mac. The iPhone is like a gateway drug that I know will lead me to that dark place where I end up behind the Genius Bar blowing guys for free iTunes Downloads. I know this, and yet I press on.
* Foam might be do-able.
* Lost is a decent show. I'm better off watching re-runs of a show that's made it through four-years than trying to watch the "new" crap they're trying to pass off these days.
* Plans for this weekend are still in the air. I'm waiting for one of the OSU kids (read: drunks) to get a hold of me for the purposes of consuming green potent potables.

Dan I'm currently looking for something to do (AKA something to drag MJ along to). If you and Shannon are free, even if it's not a party, let me know. Shannon still owes me a date, kinda. I've stood her up...well, I've just not called because of some shit (family shit, school shit, you name it, it was shit). Anyway, now I'm on spring break and I won't be returning to school until April 21st because after break the next month will be spent working 40 hour weeks at a clinic for my first clinical. Green beer or other green alcoholic substances can/will take my mind off the coming month. Help me.

Apparently my computer hates me. Delete 3 of those 4 comments...or just view it as emphasis for needing to hang out. :)

You know people in Huntsville? I'm near Huntsville! If you and the Mrs. make it there, you should let me know.

Oh how completely daft I am. I never put it together. Mills, this is Katie. Katie, this is Mills. I've known Katie since I was this big (actual size) and I went to Rose with Mills. You been down Huntsville-side for long there GAM? Seeing as how Alabama is rapidly becoming the place to be, we might have to have an excursion once the weather clears.

Bastard! I thought you were ACTUALLY dead. Since you never called after standing Kate and I up last time..... or was the sex just that bad? I mean, I know it was a little odd when the banana came out, but you said you LOVED it.

I think we're out this coming weekend (Easter), but we need to get together soon.

I thought you guys were busy on weekends until like the end of March. And I was sick for the entire week. I got better the weekend of The Great Blizzard of '08.

Let me know when you are good and ready. We're not going out of town or anything.
