Homebrewing

Beer! I’m trying to brew it. As with everything that I bring into this world, it is documented.  Each batch is documented on the site and I use goo.gl shortlinks to the pages to keep everything organized.  Rather than print complicated labels for each patch, I simply generate a qcode for the batch tag and put it on the bottle caps.  This link should take you to a complete log of brewing related posts; this page just serves as an index for each batch and recipe.  Ho, gaze upon thee and despair!

AAA01: Amber Alert

My very first attempt at brewing in my own kitchen.  It’s a simple Autumn Amber Ale from Midwest Supplies.

HH01: Huskerweizen

My very first solo attempt at brewing in my own kitchen. It’s a standard Hefeweizen from Midwest Supplies. I brewed this one using a two-stage fermentation and my new carboy for the first time.

IPA01: Dad’s Dirty IPA

Had some help from the ole’ man on this one so he gets naming rights. This kick is from Brewer’s Best. Two-stage fermentation (longer secondary), all glass. Lousy filtration (hence the dirty). Bought a new strainer and funnel set after this one.
